Our History

WHO ARE WE?
We are a progressive club founded in 1960, whose aim is to further our Members' interest in photography.

WHAT DO WE DO?
We have a varied and informative programme that covers a wide range of photographic topics of interest to members of all abilities, including talks by experts and competitions for members prints and digital images.

There is a wealth of knowledge and experience among our members, just waiting to be tapped. If there is anything you need to know about photographic techniques or digital imaging, all you have to do is ask.

WHAT NEXT?
What ever your interests in photography, beginner or advanced - there is a place for you at the Shillington and District Camera club.

Founded in March 1960 by the late Dr Frank Hedges the Club still retains its original aims:

To see work from the best possible photographers in all spheres of the medium

To offer members the opportunity to have their work analysed and criticised by competent judges

To offer a forum for the exchange of ideas, information and experience, so essential for progress in any endeavour

Above all, for fun!

These aims remain as true today as at the Club's inception.

We welcome new members whatever their skill - anyone with an interest in photography - whether expert or beginner or somewhere on that long road in between will be made welcome.

Meetings are held on Monday evenings from September to May at 7.45pm for 8.00pm start in the Village Hall, Hexton Road, Barton-le-Clay MK45 4JY .
